Take Me Back

If you're anything like me, you always get that mid-summer need for more travel and fun. While I normally daydream about faraway places, NYC keeps popping back into my head. While it's only been a matter of weeks since I was last there, I can't help but think about it's shaded side streets and that certain je ne sais quoi. I'm already planning my next trip...hopefully it will make the days go by faster and I'll be back again soon. Until then, my pictures will have to suffice.

SJP

While stumbling through the internet last night, I came across the most precious interview of Sarah Jessica Parker. It was made by Vogue, so it was wonderful, obiv. Watch below to find out some fun random facts about SJP and see inside her adorable NYC brownstone. Oh that New York life and those globes?!

What was your favorite question asked..what would you ask her?

Mo' Monet, No Problem

With a recent trip to NYC under my belt, I cannot stop thinking about the met. the art. the glory. the love. the beauty. If you're into art at all..even if you just think something is pretty...I'm down with that. A trip to the met was a big deal for me (having been once before, I could never appreciate the art then as i do now), as you see I was an art history major, so yeah, I love this stuff. The amount of hours one could spend at the met is insane in itself..I could literally spend a week in there and we were pressed for time...so it was a game-time decision on where to go and what to see. I grabbed that met map and was gone (like speedy gonzalez).

the first painting I saw: Monet, Haystacks. I died.

Mo' Monet..the bride at giverny. See previous post here

Van Gogh, le sigh.

and then the dance class by Degas (AHHHHH!)

Degas again..he was killin' it and I was l-u-v-i-n' it.

I promise you, I've got more pictures and it was very hard to pick which ones made it up here. Big moments for this gal..you know you love it when you get a little teary eyed seeing these paintings in the real. You'd probably die if you knew how much time I spent writing a twenty eight page paper about those haystacks up yonder..so to actually see it, made it all that much more worth it. Wonder what will happen if I make it to the Louvre...oh lawd. Do you like art...have you been to the met? Let us know in the comments below.

Don't get Carried Away

Hey! Hi! How are ya! Sorry for sucha long time no see over here on the blog. I must let you in on a little secret..I was swept away by NYC livin' for the past couple of days, hence my absence here. Something so magical happened to me while I was in the city, it was totally unexpected and out of nowhere...I acted like a total girl. Any thoughts on what this could be?! Well if the title of this post doesn't give it away, I guess I'll just tell you :) It was a typical New York Saturday filled with brunch, shopping in Soho and one long relaxing lunch with much needed cocktails (my favorite!).

At Morandi in the West Village..yum!

After lunch we decided to take a leisurely stroll through the west village when we just happened upon it. Yes, Carrie Bradshaw's stoop. I died. My inner sixteen-year-old self was back in an instant...I never thought out of all the streets in new york, we'd casually come across this stoop.

 Perry Street, NYC

I know, it's silly to be such a fan-girl but it really was fantastic. There were girls of all ages and nationalities gathered round this unforgettable landmark of Sex and the City. How wonderful is it that one show can bring together so many different groups of people on one new york street?! To say it was a great afternoon is an understatement.

Gals by the stoop.

Have you ever seen Carrie's stoop? Let us know in the comments below.
