Don't judge me for what I search on Etsy at night. Here are my favorites in no particular order. Some get style points for their choice of photograph with animal subject. You'll understand. Maybe I'm a little delayed, but there is nothing wrong with planning a year ahead for the best holiday of the year. Click the link to purchase.

Turns out even though we carry more dresses than any other item, you all like a lot more top & pants combos as outfits of the day than we might've thought! As the creator of the website outfits of the day, I am happy two of my posts made it up there! Thank you! So with that said..which one is your all's favorite outfit? Halloween Countdown
Its coming. Halloween. And one of the reasons I love being an actor is that I have the excuse to dress up in costume more than this one day. I LOVE to dress up in costume. And, luckily, I have friends that will dress up with me (they are crazy actor-y people too). Last year, we dressed up as the people of the Capitol from the Hunger Games:
I'm not going to lie. We are probably going to dress up in these costumes again for the midnight showing of Catching Fire. My son will be mortified. But really, embarrassing your teenager is truly a perk of parenthood.
So you are wondering what you should be? Well here is a few of my favorite that I pulled from the web to spark your imagination:
I love this idea. I reminds me of the movie BIG. The downside - it may be a tad bulky.
New twist on the traditional cat costume. Why not make yours lucky?
Dress up like the olden days and make your self black and white. I like the idea of having several cards that you can hold up through out the night.
I love clever costumes. Especially when they are play on words.
So what are YOU going to be?
Now Playing
There's a new group of gals on the block that need to be on your radar these days. Going by the name of Haim, these sisters have it going on. It's pretty apparent the trio are inspired by their San Fernando roots and 1970's classic rock loving parents through their soulful new folk meetings class R&B style. The group has played shows alongside everyone from Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros to Ke$ha (if that tells you anything about music of our generation). So if you are looking for girl power, you've come to the right place. Press play and dance around in your undies ladies. It's a girl's world.

Slammin' Smoothies: How To Make A Delicious Shake
Smoothies can be a delicious, quick breakfast or a refreshing recovery drink after a tough workout. Making your own gives you control over the ingredients, cost and portion. Are smoothies healthy? It depends on what’s in ‘em and how much you’re drinking. Just because it is blended doesn’t mean it is healthy - I’m looking at you, milkshake!
How to make a healthy smoothie? Here are tips for making your own and a few recipes to get you started.
Skip the added sugars. Fruits come from nature sweet enough! Cinnamon and vanilla add flavor without unnecessary calories.
Use whole fruits. Whole fruits contain every nutrient they grew with, especially fiber. Juice doesn’t contain the same benefits - maximize the benefits by using whole fruits.
Grab the greens. A handful of fresh baby spinach gives your smoothie a great green boost with no change in flavor. Toss it in!
Welcome some fat. Fats are essential for healthy bodies and glowing skin. Use nuts and avocados in your smoothies for sustained energy to keep you powered through your day and glowing skin you can smile about.
To make any of these recipes, simply add the ingredients and blend until creamy and smooth. Pour your smoothie into a thermos or mason jar and you’re all set for class or a trip to BlueTique to get your hands on your next fashion statement!

Ok, so we are stressed. I'm pretty sure its the whole nation right now (no matter what your political persuasion). I don't know if you have been looking at your friends Facebook and Twitter statuses but we are wigging out. And I'm here to say - chill. Just breathe.
Now, I live in an idyllic town 30 minutes south of our Harrisonburg store. Its sweet, it's peaceful, its pretty.

See? We are generally pretty easy going. And even we are freaking out.
Not only is it because of what is going on in the world but we had been under a cloud cover for 6 days. If it wasn't raining, then it was grey. Yesterday, for the brief moments, the sun came out. So in between customers, while no one was in the store, I stood outside. It only lasted for 3 minutes until more people came in but it did me a WORLD of good. It completely relaxed me for the rest of the day.
It made me think how much our emotions are tied to the physical. Usually, if I am over-reacting to a relatively minor-ish problem I ask myself 3 questions my dad taught me - Are you tired? Hungry? Lonely? - and usually the answer lies there.

But I would add a 4th - have you been in the sun? There is a reason that people are less depressed in the summer. Yes, sun damage is suck-tacular (I mean, be responsible with it) but 10 minutes in the sun can change your entire perspective.
And if all else fails - do some retail therapy. I can point you in the right direction....

Gift Idea!
Maybe it's the cool wind in the air or the surplus of pumpkin flavored items in the local coffee shop but something made me randomly think of knitting this morning. I've knitted since I was little but I have a minor confession.. I've never actually finished something. Yes, you will look in my knitting basket and see about 10 different scarves that are partially done. I got really close to finishing one once and accidentally left it in my ex boyfriend's car and then we broke up! Lo and behold he showed up at my doorstep a week later with the scarf finished and pleading for my love once more. That was weird. Anyway, this season I'm making a pact to start a little earlier so I can actually wear one of the items I plan on making. And hopefully I can make them (whatever them is) for friends and family members as well!
For those of you who have never knit before- never fear. It's really easy! And here is an easy way to start out! Why not make everyone their own set of coasters this year. It's cheap, easy and fun!
Here is a little video on how to begin:
And here is instructions on how to make the cute heart coasters seen last:

Reading is Good
Maybe I am the last to catch on to this but The Elite Daily is a great site. The website news source on all things recent and relevant calls itself the voicew of generation y and this could not be more true. The Elite Daily is like stumble upon but for anything interesting you could ever want to know about all on one screen in many various articles. From why you need to get your ex out of your life to the newest food fad in the industry. If you haven't jumped on the bandwagon yet, I would recommend it. Here are a few of our favorite articles here.
6. Why It's Okay to be Too Good (all girls should read this)
And our all time favorite (obviously) is:
Happy Friday!
Birthdays!
This past weekend was my birthday (Yep, its Jacquie again!). And I know a lot of people, after the age of 25, stopped celebrating them. Because they were getting OLD (gasp, how can anyone ever be old?). I don't see it that way. I LOVE my birthday. It doesn't matter that I turned 38 (2 years to 40!). What matters to me is that I made it another year which is, sadly, more than a lot of people. Its the ultimate time to celebrate that you are alive.
So, how did I celebrate? Well, I worked a rockin' Parents Weekend for JMU. Then I went to Barren Ridge Vineyards with my boyfriend and dear friends. It was beautiful. They have cabin in the back that you can sit and look over the vineyard. We even watched a wedding in the distance. We sat, talked, ate food and birthday cake. Played a Cards Against Humanity which is very like Apples to Apples except for adults with the sickest senses of humor. It was perfect. I love my goofy, lovely friends.

AND my Bluetique family sent me these BEAUTIFUL flowers.
Really, my corporation is the BEST.
Birthdays not only give you the best reason ever to celebrate - basically alive-ness - but the people who love and care about you get to show you how glad you are alive too.
And really what is better than that?

Throwback (Wednesday?)
How cute is this picture of two sorority girls from the 60's? Look at how gorgeous that hair is!
Not a lot has changed..you sorority girls out there are still pretty stinkin' cute with your pencil skirts and headbands. But aren't you happy you don't have to wear tights anymore though? Those were a pain in the butt (literally) in kindergarten. Glad Mom gave up on that fight real quick.
Anyway, happy hump day!

Keeneland
This past Friday the gals at Bluetique headquarters took a little work break to spend some time in the sun at the races. We came, we bet, we conquered. Not really..but we had a lot of fun! You'd think as Kentucky girls with blue blood in our veins we would know what we were doing, but to be honest we are all guilty of picking our winning ticket based on color (white horses for the win) or name (who wouldn't cheer on Pretty Princess). Keeneland season is still our favorite time of year. We will definitely be there next weekend so keep a look out for us! Also, send us pictures of you at the races or tailgating in your Bluetique dress for a chance to appear on our blog/Facebook/twitter! Kentucky kicks ass!
